Love + Care Instructions

Most stained glass is made using leaded solder and all my pieces are made with lead-free solder only and are safe to touch.

Care

Over time solder does darken, and can sometimes form a white crust along the solder line. You can clean this with the green side of a sponge, just make sure it’s dry. Make sure any other cleaning is done with a clean dry cloth or microfiber towel.  The patina can be brought back to its deep, matte black freshness with Pledge Enhancing Polish:  spray the entire project with Pledge Enhancing Polish until everything is covered and let it sit overnight.  In the morning, take a clean microfiber towel and clean the polish off of the piece and buff everything until it is shiny and no longer leaves smudge marks.

Hanging

I do not recommend hanging glass from a suction cup or command strip, I know from experience that they are not reliable and frequently fall!  Only hang pieces from the soldered rings on the piece itself; do not hang feathers from their decorative leather cording.

The safest way to hang your piece in a window is either on the window's hardware like the latch used to lock your window closed, or to put a screw-in wall hook into the wood above your window.  I do not recommend using suction cups.  I use waxed cotton cording or jewelry wire for hanging.
